The Aqua Max universal pool pump lid and o-ring set is a replacement kit for Aqua Max clamped-lid pool pumps. It includes a new transparent pump lid and a matching lid o-ring. Why Your Pump Lid Seal Matters

The pump lid seals the strainer basket housing. When the o-ring wears, flattens, or cracks, air gets drawn into the system. Air in the pump causes loss of prime, noisy operation, reduced water flow, and bubbles blowing back into the pool through the aimflow returns. Left unfixed, running a pump with an air leak can overheat the motor and cause permanent damage. Replacing the lid and o-ring set is one of the cheapest and most common fixes in pool maintenance.

When to Replace

Replace the set if the lid is cracked, yellowed, or no longer transparent enough to see the water level inside. Also replace it if you can see air bubbles in the strainer housing while the pump runs. In some cases, the o-ring alone is enough to fix the leak. However, if the lid has hairline cracks or the sealing surface is scratched, a new o-ring will not solve the problem on its own. This set gives you both parts so you only do the job once.

How to Fit

Switch off the pump. Remove the old lid by releasing the clamp band. Lift out the old o-ring. Clean the o-ring groove and sealing surface. Lubricate the new o-ring with silicone grease — never petroleum jelly as it degrades rubber. Seat the o-ring in the groove and press the new lid into place. Re-tighten the clamp band hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
