Aqua Max S Pump Casing — Replacement Body

The Aqua Max S pump casing is the replacement body for Aqua Max S-range pool pumps with the threaded lid design. This is the main housing that sits between the motor and the strainer basket lid. Inside the casing, the impeller spins and creates the suction that pulls water from your pool and pushes it through the filter. If the casing cracks, chips, or develops a hairline fracture, the pump loses pressure, sucks air, and eventually loses prime completely.

When to Replace Your Pump Casing

A cracked pump casing is one of the most common reasons for air leaks and loss of prime on pool pumps. Cracks often start small and are difficult to see, especially on the back of the casing behind the motor mount. Signs that your casing needs replacing include visible water dripping from the pump body, air bubbles in the strainer housing while the pump runs, the pump struggling to hold prime after switching off, and a drop in flow rate or suction power. In some cases, you may hear a hissing sound as air gets drawn through the crack.

What Is Included

This listing is for the pump casing only. It does not include the motor, impeller, diffuser, mechanical seal, strainer basket, or lid. However, this is often all you need. If the motor still runs and the impeller is not worn, a new casing brings the pump back to full working order without replacing the entire unit. As a result, it is a cost-effective repair compared to buying a complete new pump.

Compatibility

This casing fits the Aqua Max S-range pool pumps with threaded lids. It does not fit the older Aqua Max clamped-lid range — for that pump you need the standard Aqua Max pump casing (SKU: AMPC). Check your lid type before ordering. The S-range lid screws on. The standard range lid clamps on with a band.
