Sand Filter Air Vent — Replacement
The filter air vent releases trapped air from inside your sand filter tank. Air pockets build up during priming, after backwashing, or when the pump draws air from a low water level. If the air vent is blocked or damaged, trapped air reduces filtration efficiency and can cause the pressure gauge to give false readings. Replacing a faulty air vent restores proper air release and consistent filter pressure.
Installation
The air vent threads into the top of the filter tank or valve body. Unscrew the old vent, wrap the new one with PTFE tape on the threads, and screw it in hand-tight. Fits standard Aqua Max sand filters.
