NCS Fibreglass Pool Resin — Polyester Laminating Resin

NCS fibreglass pool resin is a polyester laminating resin used to bond fibreglass matting to the pool shell during new fibreglass lining or relining. It soaks into the chopped strand mat and hardens to form a strong, waterproof laminate that protects the concrete shell underneath. White vs Clear Resin

White resin is used for the main laminating layers. It provides a solid base colour under the topcoat and makes it easier to see coverage during application. Clear resin is used when applying decorative fibreglass tissue tiles. Because the resin is transparent, the tile pattern shows through without colour distortion. Clear resin is also used as a sealing layer over tissue work before the topcoat goes on.

How to Use NCS Resin

Mix the resin with MEKP catalyst hardener before application. Use between 1% and 3% catalyst by volume — less in hot weather, more in cold. Apply the catalysed resin to the pool surface with a brush or roller, lay the fibreglass matting into the wet resin, and then stipple more resin through the mat until fully saturated with no dry spots or air bubbles. Work in manageable sections as the resin begins to gel within 15 to 30 minutes depending on temperature. Catalyst hardener is sold separately.
