NCS Pool Topcoat — Fibreglass Pool Finish

NCS pool topcoat is the final colour coat applied over the fibreglass laminate in a pool lining or relining job. It seals the laminate, provides the finished colour, and protects the underlying fibreglass from water, UV, and pool chemicals. The topcoat is what you see when you look at a fibreglass pool — it determines the colour of the water and the overall appearance of the pool. NCS topcoat is a waxed polyester coating that cures to a hard, smooth, tack-free surface.

Available Colours

White is the most popular and practical colour. It does not fade and gives the pool water a bright, clean, light blue appearance in sunlight. Blue topcoat creates a deeper, more vivid blue water colour and is the traditional fibreglass pool look. Charcoal gives the pool a modern, dark, resort-style finish — the water appears deep green to black depending on depth and light conditions. Keep in mind that darker colours absorb more heat but are also more likely to show chemical staining over time. Maintain correct pH and alkalinity levels to protect the finish regardless of colour.

How to Apply NCS Topcoat

Mix the topcoat with MEKP catalyst hardener before application. Use between 1% and 3% catalyst by volume depending on temperature. Apply with a brush or mohair roller in even, consistent coats over the cured fibreglass laminate. Work in one direction to avoid lap marks. The topcoat contains wax that rises to the surface during curing to create a tack-free finish. Do not sand or disturb the surface while curing. Allow full cure before filling the pool. Catalyst hardener is sold separately.
