Aqua Max 50mm Poly to PVC Connector

This 50mm poly to PVC connector joins flexible poly pipe to rigid PVC pipe in your pool plumbing. One end is a glue-in socket for 50mm PVC pipe. The other end is a ribbed fitting that pushes into 50mm poly pipe and is secured with a hose clamp. As a result, you get a strong, watertight transition between the two pipe types.

Where You’d Use It

Poly pipe is often used for longer underground runs, while PVC is used around the pump, filter and valves. Therefore, this connector is the link between the two. Typical uses include:

• Connecting a poly suction or return line to PVC pipework at the pump and filter
• Repairing or extending an existing poly line
• Running poly pipe to solar panels, water features or a remote pump

How to Fit a 50mm Poly to PVC Connector

On the PVC side, first cut the pipe square and clean both surfaces. Next, apply PVC glue to the pipe and the socket, push them together and hold for a few seconds. On the poly side, slide a hose clamp over the poly pipe, then push the pipe fully over the ribs. Finally, tighten the clamp over the ribbed section. Warming the end of the poly pipe in hot water makes it easier to push on.

Choosing the Right Size

Measure the outside diameter of your PVC pipe and make sure your poly pipe is the same nominal size. In short, this fitting suits 50mm pipe. For 40mm plumbing, choose the 40mm poly to PVC connector. To join two lengths of poly pipe, use the 50mm poly to poly connector instead.
