Aqua Max Pool Light Terminal Cap

This pool light terminal cap is a waterproof cover for the back of your underwater pool light. It is not a light itself. Instead, it fits over the rear of the globe or LED light housing, where the power cable connects to the terminals. The cable passes through the gland nut on top, which clamps around it and keeps water out.

Why the Pool Light Terminal Cap Matters

Underwater lights sit below the waterline, so the electrical connections must stay completely dry. A cracked, perished or missing terminal cap lets water reach the terminals. As a result, you may see:

• The pool light flickering or failing to switch on
• The earth leakage tripping when the light is on
• Corrosion on the terminals or cable ends
• Blown globes or LED units

For that reason, replacing a worn pool light terminal cap is a small job that protects both your light and your electrical system.

Fitting Tips

Always switch off the light’s power at the DB before you start. Next, remove the light from its niche, undo the old cap and check the terminals for corrosion. Then thread the cable through the gland nut, fit the new cap and tighten the nut firmly around the cable. Finally, refit the light and test it before you swim. If you’re not comfortable working with pool electrics, ask a qualified electrician to fit it.
