Aqua Max Glued Multiport Valve – 6-Way Complete

The Aqua Max glued multiport valve is a complete 6-way valve that controls how water flows through your pool sand filter. With one turn of the handle, you can filter, backwash, rinse, recirculate, send water to waste or close the system. Because it comes fully assembled with glue-in inserts, it is a quick, direct replacement for a worn or broken standard glued valve.

The 6 Positions of a Glued Multiport Valve

• Filter: First, this is the everyday setting. Water passes down through the sand, which traps dirt before the water returns to the pool.
• Backwash: Next, water flows up through the sand in reverse and flushes trapped dirt out to waste. Use it when the pressure gauge rises.
• Rinse: After backwashing, rinse for about 30 seconds so the sand settles and dirty water doesn’t go back into the pool.
• Waste: In addition, this setting bypasses the filter and sends water straight to the waste line. Use it to vacuum heavy debris or lower the water level.
• Recirculate: Also called bypass, it moves water through the system without passing it through the sand.
• Closed: Finally, this stops all flow, for example while you clean the pump basket.

Important: Always switch off the pump before you move the handle. Otherwise, you can damage the wagon wheel gasket inside the valve.

Signs You Need a New Valve

Most multiport valve problems come from wear over time. For example, water may run to waste while the valve is on filter, or the handle may turn loosely without clicking into position. Likewise, a cracked body or leaks around the top also mean it is time for a replacement. However, if only the internal seal is leaking, a wagon wheel gasket may be all you need.
