Unlike standard pool filters, the BADU Koi is engineered for the specific demands of koi ponds. The filter handles the higher debris loads and biological waste produced by fish. Additionally, the design promotes beneficial bacteria growth essential for pond health. Therefore, you achieve both mechanical and biological filtration in one unit.

<h2>Koi Filter Medium Required</h2>

This filter uses Koi filter medium (3-5mm gravel) rather than standard pool sand. The larger particle size prevents compaction and promotes water flow through the media. Furthermore, the gravel provides surface area for beneficial bacteria colonisation. As a result, ammonia and nitrite levels remain safe for your fish. Standard pool sand is not suitable for this filter.

<h2>Roto-Moulded Construction</h2>

The BADU Koi features a roto-moulded polyethylene tank built to withstand outdoor conditions. The quick-release lid provides easy access for maintenance and media inspection. Additionally, the 12 angled collector arms ensure even water distribution through the filter bed. Therefore, you get consistent filtration performance across the entire media surface.
